Embodied Yoga for Well-Being

My classes offer a welcoming and supportive space to explore yoga as a practice of presence, self-awareness, and well-being. Through mindful movement, breath, and thoughtful adaptation, I invite students to cultivate a deeper connection with themselves while building strength, resilience, and ease—both on and off the mat.

Whether you're stepping onto the mat for the first time or returning to a long-established practice, you'll be encouraged to move in a way that honors your unique body and experience.

What to Expect in My Classes

In short, my classes are welcoming, adaptive, and grounded in the belief that yoga is a practice of coming home to yourself.

The long version—I came to yoga myself looking for something more than an exercise class, and some of my most meaningful experiences in the practice have not been about the poses at all, but about what they make possible—space to slow down, turn inward, and simply be with myself.

The beauty of asana is that it can prepare the body and mind for this deeper state of awareness, where we begin to move toward meditation and calm. From there, yoga becomes a way of learning to live in greater harmony with ourselves and with those around us.

This is the heart of the eight-limbed path, and why I choose to teach from this perspective. It includes ethical awareness in how we relate to ourselves and others (yama and niyama), cultivating inward attention (pratyahara), developing focus (dharana), and creating space for meditation and integration (dhyana and samadhi). In this way, the practice becomes something that extends beyond the physical postures and into everyday life.

I encourage students to take what resonates and leave what does not. I’m not here to prescribe a single way of practicing, but to offer support and guidance if and when it feels helpful.

Whether you're new to yoga or have been practicing for years, you can expect:

  • An inclusive and welcoming environment
  • Options and adaptations for a variety of bodies and abilities
  • Mindful movement connected with breath
  • Opportunities to build strength, mobility, and balance
  • Space to slow down, reconnect, and cultivate presence
  • A practice informed by the full eight limbs of yoga, both on and off the mat

My hope is that you leave class feeling more grounded, more connected to yourself, and equipped with practices that support your well-being long after class ends.

My Teaching Philosophy

For me, yoga is more than a physical practice—it's a way of cultivating awareness, resilience, and connection to ourselves and the world around us.

My teaching is rooted in the eight limbs of yoga, honoring the tradition as a holistic practice that extends beyond movement. While we explore asana in class, I also weave in the practices of breath, meditation, mindfulness, and philosophy. Together, these teachings invite us to move through life with greater presence, compassion, and intention.

I believe every body deserves to experience the benefits of yoga. That's why I teach with an adaptive approach, offering options and encouraging students to listen deeply to their own experience rather than striving for a "perfect" pose.

My hope is that each class becomes an opportunity to slow down, reconnect, and develop practices that support not only how you move, but how you live.
